We drove into the Yarra Valley with lovely views and wineries. Sampled wine at Chandon.
We drove to Williamstown for lunch with 3 of the people from our trip in Turkey – Lynette, Diana, and Kirsty.
We visited Sovereign Hill, a Silver Dollar City like park about the gold rush period. We both agree that it would be more fun with an 8 year old.
We completed the Great Ocean road, then headed inland to the gold rush town of Ballarat.
Today I drove the Great Ocean Road. Howie freaked out about my slow, safe driving all day. We finally saw koala bears in the wild. The highlight was the 12 Apostles – limestone stacks off of the coast.
The airplane after being 30 minutes late taking off, made an aborted landing, pulled up at the last minute and circled around to try again. I am glad that we only have 2 flights left, and only one is essential. … Continue reading
We went down to St. Kilda beach for lunch and saw the Little Penguins. The tram system in Melbourne is very efficient.

Melbourne is a clean, modern city. Not many forts or temples, but nice river walk. No cow shit. Paved streets. Sidewalks. No litter. Trash cans. No streets lined with fruit stalls and street food. No dust and dirt everywhere.
