After another early start, we drove an hour to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace. A palace some king (Raman V) built on the site where his king father met his commoner mother.
Then we visited an old, but still active temple – Wat Yai Chaimongkhol
Then on to Ayuthaya, the capital before Bangkok, and the ruins of the ancient palace.
The main thing that the tour guide wanted us to see was the Buddha head in a tree.
We ended with a cruise down the Chao Phraya river back to Bangkok and a short flight on Air Asia to Chiang Mai.
Air Asia was a nice modern plane, but you pay for everything – including water and soda.
